Jeannie Billard, Owner & Innkeeper

Born and raised in beautiful historic Port au Choix, to a large, caring family of seventeen children. At the age of nineteen, Jeannie, studied hair stylist and branched off shortly after to start her own business, which she actively practices today. One of the many services that her bed & breakfast offers.

In 1996, she opened her bed & breakfast which complimented her existing business. The bed & breakfast began small with three bedrooms and within four years of operation, the growth of the business allowed Jeannie to expand and now offers a modern and spacious home with six beautiful bedrooms.

She attributes much of her customer services skills and business sense to the influence of her parents. As she grew up working under their guidance when they owned and operated J.E. Billard General Store, a stone's throw from where her bed & breakfast now stands.

There is much more to operating a bed & breakfast, that just opening your door to strangers and putting a sign outside your door. You have to love what you do and truly enjoy the company of others. "I look outside through my picture window overlooking the port, and it still amazes me today, how much I appreciate the peacefulness and simple beauty of the day, enjoying the sunrise and the sunset as it ends another wonderful day."

The inspiration to continue, providing the best service and offer the warmest welcome to my guests, are found through the many comments left within my guestbook, or the letters that follow their stay.

We are home from our stay in Newfoundland, 18 glorious days and we loved it! Our stay at your place was amazing. We felt very welcome in your main house. Your bed & breakfast was by far "The Best" on the island. We enjoyed meeting your guests and were shown an evening of hospitality. I especially want to thank you for spending well over two hours finding places for us to stay within Newfoundland. That went way beyond your call of duty and really made a difference in our peace of mind. You are very generous! Be assured that your B & B will be recommended to others. I wish you health, success, and joy as you continue to build your business.
